Yet another super weekend of weather with a possible heat wave on the way – please ensure that your child has access to their own sun-cream (named), a hat and a water bottle so that they are able to drink, and top up, with plenty of water throughout the day.

Bell-boating

Years 4 & 5 had an amazing morning, down at Oreston Quay, bell-boating. (If you are not sure what this is it is like 2 canoes, two hulls, connected with a platform in the middle, known as a bell boat, making it stable craft.

Holiday Activities

You should have received a flier with activities for this Whitsun Half term, via email? We shall be offering three activity days, that if wet will take place in the school hall. Please check the flier below for details of how to book and any discounts for booking more than one child.

Should you have any problems booking online please contact the office or leave a message on the answerphone on 862459.

Year 6 SATs

Today was the first of four days of national testing for Year 6. To start the day off well they had a free breakfast then it was in to the spelling and grammar tests x 2. Year 6 were amazing coping with these tests in their usual confident stride. (Perhaps the added bonus of some sugar boosts helped?!) These papers have already been collected and sent off for marking.

Tomorrow is the Reading paper – let’s hope for some inspiring and interesting texts. Hopefully they will all have a good night’s sleep, in readiness for their extra breakfast.

Booking online (Breakfast/Activity Club & Lunches)

Firstly, thank you to the many parents who are now booking in advance for the Breakfast and Activity Club (after school). This has been a great help in knowing numbers to cater for. There are still some children not being booked in or signed in/out by parents; please do so to ensure your child is safeguarded and safe.

However, we have a number of parents who are not keeping up-to-date or in credit for lunches. Lunches should be paid for in advance, the school cannot afford to run up a debt, and therefore we request that all outstanding payments are cleared, prior to booking further lunches. Please check online and should you have concerns re payment or are having difficulties, please contact the office, where the staff will help to resolve the issue. Although we are a school, this is still a service that requires payment, just as you would if you were going out for a meal.

A reminder also that even if your child is in KS1/Foundation, or your child is entitled to free school meals, their meal choice still needs to be placed online, so that the cook can prepare and cater for the correct numbers of meals. Thank you.
