Calligraphy and Dumplings

We've had an exciting couple of weeks with out visiting Chinese student, Miss Chen. Children explored Chinese calligraphy using 'magic' paper. They dipped their  paintbrushes into water, squeezed off any excess and had a go at their own Chinese characters. As the water dried, their marks faded and disappeared, ready for the paper to be used again - amazing!

This week we had a go at making traditional Chinese dumplings. Children rolled out their dough into a circle before adding their filling and sealing their dumpling. Once cooked, they were able to taste their delicious creations. As you can see from the pictures, they went down very well indeed!
