Cross Country @ Coombe Dean

Well done to the children who took part in the PSSP cross country warm-up event at Coombe Dean today. We had another great turn out from Year 6, with half the class coming along to represent the school! There were a large number of children in all four races. In the Year 5/6 boys race, there were around 90-100 runners. All of the children did really well but we must highlight Henry who managed an incredible 2nd place AGAIN! Well done to the whole team, who managed to finished in 3rd place out of around 15 schools. Bickleigh Down, who were second, beat us by a single point! Both Bickleigh and Goosewell (who came 1st) will be entered in to the 'major' schools category at the PSSP cross country championships next week as both schools have twice or three times as many pupils as us! The boys did brilliantly to finish 3rd amongst these larger schools. In the girls race, there were approximately 80-90 runners. Well done to Ella who finished in 6th place and also the rest of the team - they all ran a super race. Only the top 3 schools were announced afterwards, so we will wait for the full results to see which position our girls team finished in. Our Year 3/4 girls team did manage 3rd place though so well done to them too!

More pictures and results, including the Year 3/4 children, will be uploaded here. Well done Year 6 and the rest of our runners in KS2!
