Exploring Anti-Bullying Strategies after our visit to the 'Watermark' to see 'Felix'

After viewing the film 'Felix' at the cinema, Year 6 explored the many themes of the film which included equality, differences, racism and bullying.  All the differences in the film were overcome through the unifying power of music. Linked to our topic on Africa, Year 6 learnt about Nelson Mandela and the struggles people go through to  ensure equality. We then moved onto thinking about how these themes relate to us  and how important it is to treat each other with mutual respect.  The children explored feelings, emotions and resolutions around 'conflict' and 'discrimination'.
