It was cold, it was windy and it was certainly raining as we took to the final track for the Plymstock schools cross country season this Friday. The last race was held at Oreston school this time and we were lucky to make it at all for all the traffic, but make it we did albeit running across the field in the final seconds before the first race!
Such determination and dedication has been shown by our runners and parents alike this year and the support is sincerely appreciated - thank you.
They may have been blown around and slipping all over the place but our runners all came in over the line in good positions again. You should all be very proud of your selves, especially those from years 3&4 who have raced against year 5 children from ours and other schools every time. Imagine how well you will be doing next year!
It was our very own Azad who raced home in first place AGAIN in the year 6 race making it 4 golds in a row and this time even managed to overtake the hare! What a performance from him this year. Hopefully he will go on to compete at secondary school as I am sure he will just continue to get better and better - watch this space!
So that is it for the local events this year, just the small matter of the Devon County finals at the end of this month that 3 of our teams qualified for back in October. How will we do against the best of Devon? We will find out on the 28th March!
