How are rocks used within our own village of Wembury?

Year 3 were given the challenge of answering this question by a member of the British Rock Society. Their database had crashed and information that had been gathered by scientists over many years had all been lost! Year 3 came to the rescue and carried out a rock survey. Sedimentary rocks were found to be most commonly used to construct the older duikdings in the village compared to man- made bricks in the newer houses. The children found many uses for rocks around the village. From roof tiles and curbs to plant pots and glass!
