Making a splash

Wembury certainly made a splash at the DRSA swimming gala this Monday evening. Eight of our fabulous children took to the pool taking part in a girls team relay, a boys team relay and two mixed team relay races. All of the races consisted of four 25m freestyle sprints in heats of 10 competing teams.

As usual our Wembury wonders did themselves and the school proud, qualifying for the boys final race and a mixed team final race where we narrowly missed out on the medals.

170 plus children in all were competing throughout the event which was a fabulous show of swimming skills and had an amazingly energetic atmosphere throughout. This was the biggest turn out yet for this competition and all of our children attending enjoyed every minute of the event.

Thank you to Devonport Royal Swimming association and to the Plymouth Life Centre for hosting, our smashing swimmers and of course to our amazingly supportive parents and family that were there until nearly 9pm.

We are very much looking forward to the next one!
