At Wembury Primary School we value Design and Technology as an important part of the pupils’ entitlement to a broad, balances curriculum through enquiry and questioning of the world they live in. Design Technology provides the children with the opportunity to express their individual interests, through exploring possibilities and solutions using a wide range of media, tools and materials.

The curriculum enables pupils to develop creative, technical and practical expertise in addition to developing questioning, risk taking, reflective, challenging and observational skills. These skills will provide building blocks that can be successfully transferred to an increasingly technological world. Pupils will build progressively on their repertoire of skills as they move through the key stages, through focused tasks, designing, making and evaluative opportunities.
