Year 4 have had a fantastic time becoming Vikings for the day. The children worked in 'families' to build a long ship to navigate the rough North Sea. Aiming to escape the bitter cold winters of Danelagh, the Vikings travelled to the green and pleasant lands of England. Once they arrived, they faced the dilemma of whether to attack the Anglo-Saxon villages already here or to build their own settlements. The children then carved tablets with the names written in Viking runes then finally visited the market, where they could spend their hard earned gold coins for games and a feast.
