Wow!
We can’t believe that Easter is here already! What an incredible term we have had since Christmas. It has been amazing to have all of the children back at school and we have settled back into a great learning rhythm. Thank you so much for all of your support this term. Wembury Primary and the wider school community have pulled together magnificently to support all the children’s wellbeing at a time of great difficulty for all. A massive thank you to parents, families, staff, governors, the wider community and of course our fabulous children who have brought the school back to full life again.
Contact tracing over Easter
During the Easter holiday we will continue to play an important role in contact tracing. For the purpose of contact tracing, please could parents and carers report positive cases of corona virus to the school if the child’s symptoms developed within 2 days of being in school or if they have tested positive with a lateral flow device (LFD) test and will subsequently need to book a confirmatory PCR test. Please let the school know by contacting admin@wembury-primary.devon.sch.uk and we will assist in identifying close contacts and advise self-isolation. If symptoms develop after 2 days, you only need to inform the school if your child will be self-isolating when we return to school. Please follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
Wembury Primary School Facebook Page
We are very excited to announce that we will be launching our school Facebook page shortly after Easter. This will enable us to share photos and videos of the children’s learning with you so much faster. We would really appreciate it if you could fill out the Microsoft Form that has been sent via an app message link to confirm whether you give us permission to put class photos and videos on our page. Please look out for our school logo to find our Facebook page. If you have any questions about this, please contact us via admin@wembury-primary.devon.sch.uk
Cookie Friday
Cookie Friday begins again on the 23.4.21. Don't miss the deadline to book! Please find all the information on Parent Pay on how to pay the termly fee.
Uniform
As we move into the Summer term, and the shops begin to open (hopefully!), we would like the children to be wearing their full school uniform please (including PE kits). If there are any difficulties with this, please come and talk to us (or email via admin@wembury-primary.devon.sch.uk) and we will try to help. Please note that children need to be wearing either skirts or trousers/shorts – leggings are not permitted. Y6 will be able to wear their hoodies after half-term (as soon as we get them!) as we know that some are outgrowing their jumpers.
Our ‘New Build’
You may have noticed the progress with our lovely new build. It has been very exciting to see how this has developed so quickly. We are hoping that we will be able to move our Foundation and Key Stage 1 children over to this building during the second half of the Summer Term. Everyone is very excited!
January April
The Swimming Pool!
As you know, we are blessed with a beautiful swimming pool and we are hoping to open this as early as possible in the summer term. We will be sending a timetable nearer the time to let you know when your child’s class lessons are planned in. However, please can your child bring his/her swimming kit everyday so that we can maximise any other times that are available. We will send a form for you to complete to update us with your child’s information reference swimming and water confidence.
Cross Country
Years 5 and 6 have been enjoying cross country challenges. Please click on the following link: https://www.wemburyprimary.co.uk/level-1-cross-country/ to see some photos.
Parental Survey Summary
Thank you to all who filled out our summary of remote learning. We really do appreciate your feedback which was overwhelmingly positive and we were able to implement some of your constructive suggestions for improvement immediately (such as a screen free afternoon and some small group wellbeing sessions).
Finally...
Spring is such a wonderful time of year and with the warmth, a little bit of time and the brilliant sunshine we have been able to appreciate the simple but stunning things in life – such as the beautiful daffodils that have popped up everywhere. Enjoy a happy, peaceful, safe and sunny Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all next term.
Warm wishes
