Autumn is definitely settling in with darker nights, murkier weather and finding it harder to get out of bed in the morning! With this weather in mind please could you ensure your child brings in a water proof, even if it is only a fold up one? This will allow them to go out in the damper, wetter weather, as well as stopping coming inside with damp sweatshirts. Please, also could coats be named; we regularly have a bank of unclaimed clothes, especially coats, and despite going into lost property they never seem to get claimed. Thank you.

Our youngest pupils have been settling in well with their new class, new staff and new routines. They have already produced some super self-portraits and got stuck into the dressing up corner! Can’t wait for the mud kitchen! Too much fun!

Pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 had the opportunity to sample and try out Ju Jutsu, (a form of martial arts that develops, strengthens and conditions the body with the added benefits of concentration, respect, self-control and focus) with Greg Regan. Greg runs a Ju Jutsu Club in the school hall, on a Tuesday night 6.00-7.30pm. The first session is FREE with no obligation. For further details please contact

MacMillan Coffee Afternoon

On Friday 28th September we shall be holding a MacMillan Coffee afternoon 2.30-4.00pm. This will be an opportunity to catch up with friends, welcome new Foundation parents and new families, as well as raise money for a good cause. We are asking for donations of cakes to be handed into the office, either Thursday after school or the Friday morning. We would also welcome some helpers to help serve cakes and hot drinks. If you feel you could spare an hour to help please contact our lovely office staff, either in person or call on 01752 862459. Children are of course welcome but we respectfully request that school children are not collected from class until 3.00pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

It is that time of year when FroWS hold their AGM and committees, events calendar and funding is discussed. As ever we are always looking for new members, helpers and ideas. If you feel you could set aside some time, even a small amount to help organise, why not come along to the AGM on Wednesday 10th October, 6.00pm at school? Find out how you could be part of, or support to, this amazing organisation who raise valuable, additional funds to provide resources for our pupils and school. If you want an opportunity to get to meet other parents, join in the fun and socialisation, again all for a good cause – then look no further than FroWS! We’d love to see you there, make a date in your diary.

KS2 parents should have received a text reminder regarding snacks. Should you wish your child to receive alternate days of fruit or crumpets, today is the last day to sign them up, via ParentPay. You have until midnight!
