Dear Parents and Carers
First and foremost, I hope all of you and your families are keeping safe and well at this difficult time. We are thinking of you and it is good to hear that many of you are in touch with each other and supporting each other online. The home learning photos on the school’s website are delightful, and it is great to see so much outdoor learning and practising of new life-skills. This all fits in very well with Wembury’s Vision and Values and its logo “Learning for Life for Learning …..”. Well done everybody! There are so many positive things happening in our community, for which we can all be grateful, but we also recognise that for many of us this is a very difficult and distressing time.
For governors, it is disappointing and frustrating that we cannot go into school as usual, and that much has been delayed, including the long-awaited new building. We greatly miss those special school events which bring the school together, and their absence underlines how important they are in the life of the school. Governors are, however keeping up online with what is happening in the Wembury Primary School community and doing whatever governor tasks we can. We will be having an online meeting and email discussions leading up to 28th April which would have been our next scheduled meeting. As always, the governors are eager to hear any comments or questions you might have, and you can contact us on the email addresses below.
Our thanks and best wishes go to all parents, carers and the children, and also to Mrs Evans and the staff who are working very hard in difficult circumstances. We are also grateful for the support from WeST at this time.
With very best wishes,
Sheila Jenkins, Chair of Governors, on behalf of the Governors of Wembury Primary School
