Dear Parents and Carers

We can’t believe that a whole year has whizzed by and it is the Summer holidays once more! And what a year it has been: full of challenges for all; full of uncertainty but full of many moments of laughter, happiness and the sheer joy of learning!

Thank you all!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of you: our wonderful parents who have supported the children and the school so brilliantly (including magnificently during ‘Home Learning’); the most amazing staff at Wembury Primary School who have ensured that each and every one of our children has been nurtured, taught inspiringly  and looked after in so many ways; our brilliant FROWS community for their contributions that have enriched the lives of the children and of course our fabulous school governing body who have persevered with ‘Teams’ meetings to ensure that the school has excellent ongoing support . Of course – a gigantic ‘Thank You’ to the incredible children who make all of the challenges melt away with their enthusiasm, love of learning and sense of awe and wonder at the world.

Summer Reading Challenge

The following link will take you to all the information that you need to access the reading challenge, on-line or in your local library. It is a great way for children to nurture their imaginations and to ‘relax’ into their reading!

Goodbyes!

Or is it…..’til we meet again!

As you know, Mrs Riley is leaving us to begin new adventures.  Mrs Riley has been a much-loved teacher within Wembury Primary for several years and will be sorely missed.  We are planning on finding ways to entice her back regularly but we wish her great happiness in the next part of her journey.  Mr Thomas Baxter has been supporting children in Year 3 brilliantly as a Teaching Assistant and is leaving to continue with his education degree. We have loved having him with us and wish him a bright and fulfilled future. Our brilliant Mrs Edwards is leaving the school after many years of exceptional service as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. She has nurtured many, many of our pupils and also many teachers! Once more, we wish her great happiness – she will be missed by all. Finally, we want to wish Mr Terry Clarke much love as he changes his role within school to that of an incredible gardener; he has already begun creating gardening triumphs you will see popping up over the course of the year!

Not forgetting our wonderful Year 6!

We have had several days of celebrations with Year 6 beginning with their fantastic play on Monday, their walks through memory lane on Tuesday and their presentation of cups and trophies on Wednesday! What a year group! What stars!  We will miss them terribly but we know that they will be embarking on journeys new  - they have so much potential and we are very proud of each and every one of them. Come back and see us Year 6!

Of course, how can we forget a  huge GOODBYE to our Dancing Queen!

End of Year Star Certificates 2021

Finally, we wish you all a fantastic, well-deserved break. School begins again on Wednesday 8th September (6th and 7th are Staff Training Days). We will maintain our current arrangements for picking up/dropping off until we can reassess the situation reference Covid. We look forward to seeing you all again then, relaxed and refreshed, ready for a new school year that will bring with it new challenges and new rewards. Have a safe, happy Summer with your loved ones.

With very warm wishes
