This week, we have welcomed back our first bubble of EYFS children. It was so lovely to see them, smiling and embracing and excited to see their friends, and embracing their new surroundings. What little stars! We now have 89% of EYFS returning, with 71% Year1 and 77% Year 6. Thank you parents, for having the confidence in our plans to maintain the safety of all.
Whilst no other year groups are able to return in the same way, before the end of the year, we are drawing up plans of how we can invite each remaining class in, for closure and handover to their new, year group. We desperately want to see as many children as possible before the summer break. This will take far more planning, but it is hoped to let you know over the following week. Unfortunately there will be two notable omissions! Both Mrs Pip Edwards and Mrs Becky Wotton will be unable to return to school as they are both pregnant. Congratulations to them both.
A letter regarding class teachers will be included in your child’s annual report, which is due to be emailed out next week. All year groups will receive their report at the same time this year, and due to current circumstances these will need to be electronic. (Should you wish a paper copy printed, on return in September, including Year 6, please send an email at the start of the autumn term. Thank you.)
Over the summer there will be no Educare, and home learning will be in the form of a summer project. However, don’t panic, we have booked Argyle to run two multi-skill activity days each week for the duration of the six weeks. Information and how to book will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.
As ever, we ensure Wembury Primary School remains a very special place; today we had ice creams, courtesy of the school!!!! Unfortunately the same van cannot visit on a Thursday, but we are endeavouring to find another that can, so that all in school, no matter their bubble, get an ice cream.
Please take the time to read our Governors' Blog HERE
This will keep you up to date on the work that they continue to carry out (remotely) ensuring the school remains a safe place and learning at its forefront.
