What a glorious start to term!


Main Entrance Changes


Over the past year we have made a number of changes to the access of the school, and more recently with the signing in system and process. With Breakfast Club now taking place in our school hall we have added some additional changes. Primarily the office and staffroom doors will only be accessible via a fob, or if opened by a member of staff. However, this will not impact on parents/visitors accessing the office for support. Up until 8.30am parents will have access to the signing in area too. We will soon be installing a doorbell, to be located on the wall to the hall, to notify Breakfast Club staff of your arrival. We ask that you remain with your child until the supervising adult has collected your child.  As soon as the bell is installed we will inform you.


We have also made some simple but dramatic changes for the children too.  No doubt if your child is in Year 1, 3, 4 or 5 you will have heard that they now have lockers? The impact and difference this had made in the corridors, along with a new carpet, to their well-being, has been beyond our expectations. The children feel ‘grown up’ and are very excited about what they can fit in their locker!! They can walk through the corridor without coats or bags leaping at them! All food and drink is to be taken into the classroom or on the racks outside the class; we also hope this will lessen the amount of lost property. We still have a number of items unclaimed, from last half term. Please note that after a term, lost property items, unless labelled or claimed, will either be given to our new second hand uniform shop, (to be held approx once per month) or passed on to charity.   


The first second hand shop will take place on Friday 15th March – Red Nose Day, during afternoon refreshments.

After-School Club


A reminder that children need to be booked in, and paid for, in advance so that we are able to staff appropriately and cater for numbers for snack.  This will consist of a buffet choice of, and variety of, sandwiches, fruit, pasta, crackers, biscuits, muffins etc and a drink.




Pupil & parent consultations are coming up week commencing 18th March, please look out for the notification. This term’s consultations will be pupil led - this is a time for you to come and listen to your child share their learning. The consultation will be facilitated by the teacher but led by your child. It will be an opportunity to further support and encourage your child and share in their learning.

Summer Fayre

Calendar dates - coming up


This Friday 1st March will see Year 5 visit Coombe Dean for an MFL event,  football will take place at GOALS and then Cross Country at Goosewell @ 4.00pm – so a busy day.

The following week, 4th March, we have Bikeability for Year 5 and Balanceability for Year 1 - please can parents of pupils in these year groups ensure forms are returned by this Thursday 28th February – thank you.


You should also have received a letter regarding World Book Day, on Thursday 7th March, so are looking forward to all the fabulous outfits and characters coming into school.

Week commencing 11th March will be our STeAM Week (Science, technology, engineering, art and maths) where a number of in school and out of school events have been arranged.


DT Parent Fund Contribution


A polite reminder to ask that outstanding DT annual contributions, of £5, are paid via ParentPay. These contributions enable your child to take part in some cooking, making, visits etc without further requests being made for financial support. Thank you.
