What a glorious Bank Holiday weekend we have had. Hopefully you have all been able to enjoy the extended weekend?
There is nothing like music to liven up the day! Last Friday was just that, music all day but added to the mix was that of dance. KS2 children danced the day away, learning a modern dance, acro style. Take a look at the news article to find out more.
As you will have seen from the text from Mrs Riley we have been given the opportunity to WIN new playground equipment worth £9,500 in The Herald's competition 'Win a Playground For Your School.' The Herald has teamed up with Play Area Hygiene Services Ltd (PAHS) and The Plastic Company to offer one lucky school, pre-school or nursery the chance to win equipment valued over £9000. (Hopefully Wembury!) The organisers will work out a raw score for the school based on the children to token ratio, so by encouraging friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to collect tokens from The Herald between Tuesday 8th May and Saturday 26th May 2018 we could have a good chance of winning. Each day there will be a minimum of 5 tokens to collect, with 5 bonus tokens on 8th, 14th and 21st, and an amazing 100 tokens on 12th, 19th and 26th May.
Collection points will be:
1. a collection box in the school office or alternatively, please send/post tokens to Wembury Primary School, Knighton Road, Wembury, PL9 0EB.
2. a collection box in Knighton Stores, who have kindly agreed to support our collection.
The final date for collecting tokens is Saturday 26th May which is the beginning of the half-term break. So please get collecting and spread the word!

Remember to book your pitch for the Camp Out on Saturday June 16th. This is an amazing family event, with even more activities included this year, including the pool! Contact details for FroWS and booking are on the flier and poster, find out how you could join in the fun too!
FroWS biggest money earner of the year takes place on Saturday 7th July. The theme for this year is the Farmyard, yi ha! Any additional support is much appreciated, even if it is only for half an hour. Please contact FroWS and see how you could support them to support the school in raising invaluable additional funds for our pupils.
Breakfast Club and Activities After-school Club
As you know, due to staff changes, we are looking to appoint new staff to support our Breakfast and After-school clubs, with the intention of extending hours in September from 7.30am start and a 6.00pm close.
However it is essential that parents book online and sign children in/out on arrival and collection. We have to ensure we have the correct ratio of staffing and whilst it used to be a turn up, for Breakfast Club, we requested earlier this year for parents to book places online and then sign children in rather than just drop off. Whilst it is appreciated there have been some issues with staff timings we wish all to get into good habits by following protocol and health & safety procedures.
Therefore ALL pupils attending Breakfast Club MUST be booked on, online the day before, through ParentPay in order to organise the level of staffing required. We appreciate that on the odd occasion there may be an emergency, but this should only affect one or two. Similarly ALL pupils attending After-school Club MUST be booked in online, by midday at the latest, again to allocate appropriate staffing and generate the register for the end of the school day.
Should you have any problems booking online please contact the office or leave a message on the answerphone on 862459.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Let's hope for more sunshine and good weather.
