To begin our learning in International Week, we began by looking at a map of the world and identifying the region we will be focusing on - the Middle East. We discussed lots about this part of the world, such as the most commonly spoken language here as well as the most followed religion. After lots of questions and sharing knowledge, we began to think of some traditional food that people in this region might like to eat. After this, we began making bread and hummus! The children really enjoyed these activities, including preparing the dough, chopping and peeling garlic, cutting the lemon, adding the spices and other ingredients and finally mixing it all together. Of course, we had to sample our creations and the hummus was certainly very popular!
