International Week - Global Goals

This week, Year 6 have been learning about Child Labour around the world.  They have been exploring the Global Goals 8 and 16 and have explored the following key questions:

 

  • How can the ending of child labour improve job prospects and economic growth?
  • How can the ending of child labour ensure there is more peace and justice in the world?
  • What can we do to raise awareness of the issues (particularly in respect of ways to end child labour and ways to ensure all children in the world have an education).


Have a look at our photos from our Activitity Morning.  The children were so engaged and concerned about the issues.  They interviewed each other (as children in different countries) created storyboards, posters and songs to raise awareness and wrote letters to companies about the production conditions for workers (including children) on palm oil plantations.
