We celebrated National Poetry Day by writing poems linked to our current topic - Britain's National Parks. We read and discussed a poem together before using our senses to generate ideas for an autumn-themed poem. Stimulated by sounds of wildlife, we imagined walking through one of Britain's national parks this time of year. Some of the children read their poem to the class but we will be completing them, including editing and re-drafting, tomorrow. The children had excellent ideas and were really confident in using smiles, metaphors, alliteration and much more! Well done, Year 6.
