Brian Pollard is probably the most popular naive painter in the South West of England, and he lives in Plymouth! AND...he came to visit Year 2.
You would probably recognise his paintings instantly, with hot air balloons and fluffy white clouds, blue skies, and famous landmarks, many of which are local. Smeaton's Tower and the Dolphin pub, on the Barbican, have been used for numerous gifts, cards, posters and calendars.
Did you know he always paints himself in his work and a dog called Hector? Next time you look at his paintings see if you can spot him or the dog.
We are very much looking forward to the work of Year 2, and see how Brian's style and use of colour has influenced their paintings.
