Today we lucky to be visited by a group of Ghanaians, who are currently in Plymouth. The children were amazing at such short notice - becoming tour guides and Djembe drum entertainers.
All visitors were very impressed with their guides; with their confidence, knowledge and enthusiasm about the school and their learning. They hold very important roles back in Sekondi Takoradi:
Ishaq is the Co-ordinating Director of the Sekondi Takoradi Assembly.
Mohammed is the Chief Executive of the City Council appointed by the President of Ghana.
Nana is the Co-ordinator for Sekondi/Plymouth Link Programme.
Nora is the Chief Inspector of schools in Sekondi. (A bit like an Ofsted Inspector.)
Kate is now a student studying at Plymouth City College.
We invited our visitors into our Celebration assembly where we not only celebrated their attendance, but also all the amazing achievements that our children had made over the past week, both in and out of school.
A HUGE well done to all the children and staff for making them feel so welcome and to Brian Dixon for facilitating this visit.
Maybe this will help to make further links with a Ghanaian school? (The children and visitors were definitely keen!)
