There were around 40 campers this weekend, in a range of accommodation - camper vans, 2 x man tents, tepees and family tents. All seem to be having a wonderful time, although the birds were a bit noisy, too early in the morning! The children were thoroughly entertained with a circus skills area and were able to practise stilt walking, juggling, rope acrobatics and plate spinning. There were team games of rounders, story-telling in the evening around the camp-fire and ice-creams to cool off in the heat.
It was an amazing effort and event all round. Some families had gone to great lengths to decorate their 'venue.' There were flags and bunting galore, solar powered lights, boa feathers, paintings, interactive tents with musical instruments and a vets practice, including many pets. (Fortunately they were all well-behaved cuddly toys!)
Mrs Sheila Jenkins and Mrs Linda Watts (Co-chairs of governors) and Mrs Susie Evans (Headteacher) were invited to judge the best dressed tent. There were so many brilliant efforts by adults and children it took a break, with an ice-cream, to deliberate! Highly commended were; William and Isaac Bye's beach theme, Phoebe Draper's Sports & Music inspired theme and Ethan John's Glastonbury theme, with carpet, parrot and all! Overall winner was Hattie Morris' Vet's Clinic, with support from her vet surgeon Henri Carr. Even the animals were well behaved and very well looked after.
FroWS raised over £300 - what an amazing effort - what an amazing team! Well done and thank you.
