Wembury Primary Pupils - Edu-care for critical workers over 2 week Easter Period

Thank you so much to all our families who are supporting the government advice and keeping their children at home.  All schools remain CLOSED to almost all children. Keeping children at home is helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and is essential if we are to beat the Coronavirus.

WeST Educare is only provided to the children of frontline, critical workers for the directed hours they are working.  This is a childcare arrangement where there is no other option available to protect the children.  If there is any way that a child can remain safely at home it is vital that they do so.

The current situation within WeST is that, due to staffing numbers and a reduction in the number of children, from Monday 30th we will operate a ‘Hub’ model.  This means that if you ask for your child/children to be cared for by WeST Educare that they will not be attending their normal school and may be cared for by staff from other WeST schools other than their own.

The hub school will be Dunstone Primary School in Plymstock:

Dunstone Primary School

Shortwood Crescent

PL9 8TQ

From Monday 30th March, all children attending WeST Educare at Dunstone must bring a packed lunch and additional breaktime snacks if they wish.

We will review the situation on a weekly basis, depending on staff numbers and pupil numbers.  Should you require this provision for the Easter Holiday and you have no other option to look after your child/children safely at home, please complete our online survey using the link below. The deadline for completion is 3.00pm on Thursday, 26 March. If you have a problem completing the form, then please email: admin@wembury-primary.devon.sch.uk

Please note that WesT Educare at the Plym Hub will not be available over the Easter Weekend (Friday 10 April to Monday 14 April).

Our number one priority is keeping our staff, families and children safe.  We will continue to keep you informed as the situation changes through our normal methods of communication.
