Plymouth Schools Knockout Cup - 1st Round

After a difficult match at Goals on Friday, our Year 5/6 team put in a brilliant performance to overcome Prince Rock in the first round of the Plymouth Schools Knockout Cup. The match was very tight in the first quarter, however, after a series of great chances for both teams, Wembury edged ahead in to a 2-0 lead. Prince Rock managed to pull one goal back but as the game went on, Wembury created a host of great chances, finishing the game with a 6-1 scoreline. The children played some excellent football, using the space on the pitch well with some brilliant passing and movement. If it wasn't for a superb Prince Rock goalkeeper, the score might have been higher. Well done to Prince Rock for their performance and effort this afternoon.

We now wait to find out which school we will play against in the 2nd round of this exciting competition, dubbed as the 'FA Cup for schools'. Our girls team are also due to play in the second round of this competition soon as we wait to find out who our opponents will be. They had a bye in the first round.
