Summer term PE provision

Welcome to the Summer term. This term, the children will find themselves out doors as much as possible to get the most out of the British summer time. 


Main focus areas for all classess this term are; Swimming, athletics and summer games.


Swimming - Our very own outdoor pool is ready and raring to go!


Each class has been alloctaed 3 swimming sessions per week of at least 45 minutes. Children will be encouraged to participate in every session so please ensure they have a swimming kit in school on their allocated days. 

EYFS and KS1 classes will be focussing on basic stroke technique and enjoyment of the water with our own specialist swimming coach Simmone Cater. 

KS2 classes will be focussing on strengthening their stroke, swimming under wtaer and water safety. 

Government guidelines suggest that all children should be able to swim 25m unaided by the time they leave primary school.  Over the course of the next half term, swimming session will not only be incredibly enjoyable but very focussed to ensure we meet these standards.  


Athletics - Getting ready for our school games day!


Athletics has always been a focus within Primary PE. Children will look at running and how to improve running techniques. Relay, concentrating on successful baton handovers, throwing the foam javelin, balls and vortex and jumping, long jump, triple jump and verticle. See if you can spot their new skills during our school games day on the 12th July.
