As part of our Arts in the Environment week, members of the nationally and internationally recognised junk percussion band, WEAPONS OF SOUND, came into school today.
Louise and Nick ran workshops throughout the day and EVERY child in school had the chance to play on the junk instruments and work as part of a team -children, teachers and parents - to perform a rhythmic piece.
Louise taught us 2 different rhythms which fitted together, hand signals to play loudly, quietly and to warn us of a 4 beat break, a whistle signal so that we all knew when to stop playing . . . and much, much more.
What a FANTASTIC experience to end the week!
