We had another wonderful day of football on Monday. This time, it was the boys' turn after the amazing performance of the girls, who won their tournament the week before! Both of our teams played really well and it was particularly pleasing to see how children in Year 4 and 5 have progressed over the last year. Both teams managed to make it through to the quarter finals where unfortunately our B team were knocked out despite some brilliant performances by all children.
However, our Year 6 team were just getting started as they cruised towards the final with a few comfortable wins. Next up, in a repeat of last year's final, we faced Montpelier to decide who would win the trophy. After some impressive performances prior to the final, not conceding a single goal in the process, we knew it was going to be a tough game. Montpelier certainly have some extremely talented players in their team and before we knew it, they were 3-0 ahead. It was difficult to come back after this and that's the way the match ended. Well done to Montpelier - they thoroughly deserved to win. We are very proud of all of our teams and particularly impressed that we managed to make it to the final in both tournaments, even winning one! Go Wembury!
